Compas co-founder, Josef, has moved to Cape Verde in June 2024 and since the first moment he stepped into the island, he commenced working with the local institutions to support the most vulnerable members of the community.

The village, Estância de Baixo, which is being supported has about 500 to 600 inhabitants, of which 150 are children. The school has 34 pupils divided into 2 classes, the school is not big enough for all the children from the village, so some children commute to school in Rabil.
Thanks to Czech and British tourists, we were able to arrange 90% of the necessary items for students and teachers in such a short time, and thanks to the local community, we can work very closely with both the school and kindergarten to supply them with the essential equipment and set up a long-term cooperation.
We have also successfully established a long-term partnership with the local hospital in Sal Rei. In a recent meeting with Dr. Diamantino and the hospital administration, we delivered much-needed medicine and medical supplies, once again thanks to contributions from Czech and British tourists. The hospital regularly provides us with a list of essential items required for its daily operations, which we strive to supply as effectively as possible.
We would like to thank you TUI airline, which allowed our charity to send a letter to people who fly with their company from the UK to the island of Boa Vista for an extra 10/20kg suitcase for free for our charity on the island.
